The Beal Opera 8.5mm – Golden Dry Cover is a high end sport climbing rope but it is also triple rated so it can be used as a half and twin too. At 48g/m it is actually the thinnest and lightest single rope on the market. The Thermo Fluid treatment stabilises the strands so the rope has a compact weave with a supple feel and the Golden Dry Cover treatment is applied to both the sheath and core to reduces water absorption and dirt ingress to increase its life span and keep the weight down in wet conditions. The Opera is made with a Unicore construction which bonds the sheath to the core, in the event of the rope being cut this means that the sheath will not slip.
