It’s made from durable nylon with a ripstop weave in the canopy and a water-resistant finish on the fly and floor. DAC poles and stakes are exceptionally strong for their weight and the design itself helps to withstand powerful winds. It’s easy to pitch, even when the weather isn’t behaving, thanks to a combination of pole sleeves and clips. Dual entry comes in pretty handy when snow and wind create snowdrifts at one end of the tent. And once you’re in there’s plenty of storage space, including hanger loops for damp clothing, and a large vestibule for bigger packs. Color-coded zip pulls glow in the dark and the high-strength guylines are reflective, so you can find your way home after a long day on the wall. Pitching in snow is not a problem as four snow stakes are included and if winds turn gale force, there are welded reinforcements at critical points in the fly sheet. And if your trip isn’t about one basecamp, but several basecamps it’s relatively light at 5 kg so you can take it on the move.
